Apple has been releasing a spate of updates for all its devices. Apart from iOS 16.2 and macOS 13.1, Apple has announced a new update for Apple Watch users, in the form of watchOS 9.2. This update will bring a range of changes, like Crash Detection improvements, Race Route, and more.
The new watchOS update has been rolled out to users. The same can be updated by simply heading to Settings, selecting General, and then selecting Software Update. You can also use the Apple Watch companion app on your smartphone in order to install the update.
Apple watchOS 9.2 updates
Some of the updates that the Apple watchOS 9.2 will bring are as follows:
- Race Route is a feature that allows you to compete with your own performances in Outdoor Cycle, Outdoor Run, and Outdoor Wheelchair Workouts
- There is a new custom Kickboxing algorithm built into the Workout app. This is said to offer more accurate metrics
- The Noise app that displays when environmental sound levels are decreased is now available with AirPods Max and AirPods Pro (1st generation) when you select the active noise cancellation feature
- Users with Family Setup can now be invited to the Home app. This will let them control HomePod speakers along with their smart home accessories. It can also help them unlock doors using the home keys in the Wallet.
- The update brings new Accessibility support that helps people visualise when Siren is being used on Apple Watch Ultra
- The update also improves the hand gesture controls for Quick Actions and AssistiveTouch by improving the accuracy and response time.
- There are new Crash Detection optimisations that will be available on Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch Ultra, and Apple Watch SE (2nd generation)
- A bug displays the wrong time right after dismissing an alarm in Sleep Focus has been fixed
- A bug that interrupts mindfulness sessions has been fixed
