TCL launches 8K and 4K QLED TVs in India starting at Rs 45,990
TCL has launched its 2020 4K and 8K QLED TV lineup in India.
The flagship 8K QLED has the model number X915. The 4K QLED comes in two variants - C815 and C715.
All the TVs are QLED TVs and run on the Android TV platform.
TCL has launched its new 8K and 4K QLED TVs in India. The TVs support HDR10 and Dolby Vision. The highlight of the TVs, of course, is its QLED backlighting. TCL has been producing QLED TVs for a while now and the new lineup is the latest entry in its portfolio. All the TVs run on Android TV 9 in India with support for all the popular streaming services and Google Assistant. The TVs range from 50-inches going all the way up to 75-inches. The flagship 8K QLED TV boasts of support for HDMI 2.1 and also brings with it MEMC to give viewers a smooth content consumption experience. The C715 comes with hands-free voice controls that let you use the TV without the remote control. We have the 65-inch C715 in for review and will let you know our thoughts on the TV soon. Below is a look at the specifications of the QLED TVs TCL announced today.
TCL X915 8K QLED TV Specifications and Features
Starting with the flagship TV, the TCL QLED TV X915 has an 8K resolution and supports both IMAX Enhanced and Dolby Vision for your content consumption needs. It also comes with a pop-up camera at the top which can be controlled via the TCL app. The camera can be used to click photos and make video calls. The 8K QLED TV has 4GB RAM and brings with it 32GB storage. It has a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz.
TCL says that the X915 also comes with AI upscaling. This means that if the content you are consuming is not in 8K, the TV will use its upscaling engine to make the content look as crisp as possible. Another thing to note is that the TV supports HDMI 2.1 So we can expect it to support functions like eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel), VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) which are features gamers will appreciate. The TV runs on the Android TV UI giving you access to popular streaming services like Netflix, Prime Videos and more via the Google Play Store. It also supports MEMC.
Coming to audio, the TV comes with a soundbar powered by Onkyo. It has 50W of sound output and features 2 full-range drivers, 2 bass drivers and 4 passive radiators. It also has DTS certifications as well for sound.

The TCL QLED 8K X915 is available in 75-inch screen size and is priced at Rs 2,99,990 only.
TCL C815 4K QLED TV Specifications and Features
The TCL C815 is a 4K QLED TV and brings with it sound output from Onkyo. It is a 2.1 setup and has 2 front-firing speakers and a subwoofer at the back. The TV does not have an external soundbar, but rather front-firing speakers. One thing to note is that only the 65 and 75-inch variants of the C815 come with 120Hz MEMC. The TV also supports 4K resolution, with HDR and Dolby Vision support along with Dolby Atmos. It runs on the Android TV platform and brings with it support for the Google Assistant and the Google Play Store to cater to your streaming services needs.
TCL C815 4K QLED TV Screen Sizes, Price and availability
The 55-inch variant of the TCL C815 QLED TV will be available from June 23 and is priced at Rs 69,990. The 65-inch variant is priced at Rs 99,990 and the 75-inch variant is priced at Rs 1,49,990.
TCL C715 4K QLED TV Specifications and Features
The TCL C715 QLED TV is available in three screen sizes – 50-inches, 55-inches and 65-inches. All three screen sizes bring with them a 4K resolution (3840×2160), 60Hz refresh rate and support for 93 percent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The TV supports HDR 10, HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision and also supports Dolby Audio including Atmos. The TV runs on a 64-bit A55 quad-core processor with the frequency ranging from 900MHz to 1.1GHz. It comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB built-in storage. It supports both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bandwidth.
For connectivity, all the ports on the TV are neatly laid out on one side. It has two USB ports, three HDMI 2.0 ports with HDMI 1 supporting ARC. It also has an optical port and a 3.5mm port which is nice. It also has Bluetooth connectivity.
The TCL C715 QLED TV also supports hands-free voice controls. It has 4 far-field mics and you can simply say OK Google without the TV remote control to issue commands to the TV. The TV has a physical toggle at the back to switch on the mics and users can then switch on and off the mic from the settings of the TV.
The TV runs on Android TV 9 and brings with it support for the Google Play store including support for all popular streaming services like Netflix, Prime Videos, Disney+ Hotstar and more. Thanks to the Android TV UI, users can also control their smart home appliances from the comfort of the TV. The TV also comes with Chromecast built-in.
Moving on to the remote control, the TCL C715 QLED TV comes with a minimalistic remote control. It has a dedicated button for the Google Assistant and Netflix. It also has a volume rocker but no mute button, which can be a bummer for some.
TCL C715 QLED TV – Price and Availability
The TCL C715 will go on sale on June 23. The 50-inch variant of the TV is priced at Rs 45,990, the 55-inch variant is priced at Rs 55,990 and the 65-inch variant is priced at Rs 79,990.
Recently, TCL also announced its P715 4K TVs and we finally have all the screen sizes and the price of the TVs. The 43-inch P715 is priced at Rs 28,990, the 50-inch variant is priced at Rs 34,990, 55-inch at Rs 39,990, 65-inch at Rs 61,990 and the 75-inch is priced at Rs 99,990.
