Vodafone’s Rs 399 postpaid plan now offers 30GB data, unlimited voice calls and other goodies to select users
The new Vodafone RED 399 postpaid plan now offers 30GB of 3G/4G data along with unlimited local and STD calling, 100 SMSes, free national roaming, access to movies worth Rs 4,000 and subscription to Magzter e-magazine service.
Vodafone is now offering 30GB of 4G data along with unlimited voice calling for Rs 399 to select customers, as a reaction to similar plans by Reliance Jio, Airtel and Idea. The plan falls under the Vodafone RED Postpaid plan and will offer benefits like unlimited local and STD calls, free national roaming, 100 SMSes per day and 30GB 3G/4G monthly data with an option to rollover the data up to 200GB to Vodafone customers migrating from prepaid to postpaid plans as well as to customers switching to Vodafone from other networks.
Additionally, the new plan also gives free access to movies worth Rs 4,000 through Vodafone Play Service for 1 year along with Magzter subscription that provides a collection of over 3,500 magazines for four months.
To avail the plan, you will need to dial 199 from your phone. The official Vodafone website has not been updated with the details about the new plan. But the fine print states that after six billing cycles, customers will have to pay Rs 499, which is Rs 100 more than the original amount. Moreover, the new plan is not available in Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh.
With the plan, users will get unlimited voice calling which will be capped to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week. The plan also includes Vodafone RED Shield which is essentially an insurance service against smartphone damage and theft.
With the new plan, Vodafone is now at par with the competition. Reliance Jio offers 30GB of 4G data capped at 1GB per day for Rs 309 while the Rs 409 plan gives an uncapped 20GB of 4G data to Jio users. Airtel offers 20GB of data for 30 days with its Rs 399 myInfinity postpaid plan.
