Vi has announced a ₹100 add-on to its postpaid plans, giving its users access to SonyLIV Premium for mobile and TV for 28 days. This is thanks to Vi and SonyLIV’s existing relationship, and Vi’s aim to provide its users with a new list of OTTs.
Vi is also offering its users access to movies and TV channels and over 450 live TV channels including news channels and other premium content from the OTT platform.
The ₹100 Vi add-on lets you watch numerous sports channels and programmes like the UEFA Champions League, UFC, WWE and Bundesliga to go along with originals like Scam 1992, Mahrani and Gullak Season 2, all of which are SonyLIV exclusives. You can also watch international shows like The Good Doctor, Fantasy Island and Magpie Murders with the add-on.
The SonyLIV add-on is not mobile exclusive, you can also use it on your laptop, PC and TV as well.
Furthermore, the new ₹100 Vi postpaid pack includes 10GB of high-speed data access with a 30-day validity period. The Vi app also includes access to Vi's extensive content library via Vi Movies & TV (Vi MTV).
Vi's latest move comes after the telecom operator launched a similar plan for its prepaid customers in May of this year. A Sony LIV Premium mobile-only subscription and 4GB of high-speed internet are included in the ₹82 prepaid add-on plan from Vi.
Last month, it was reported that the Aditya Birla Group-backed company intended to increase its postpaid subscriber count and add more high-paying customers to its network through focused marketing initiatives as part of a larger strategy to increase its average revenue per user.
Vi has introduced new international roaming packs starting from ₹599 to as much as ₹5999. The ₹599 pack comes with a 24-hour validity while the ₹5999 pack comes with a 28-day validity period. These packages come with unlimited voice calls and data.
These plans are available to customers travelling to the UAE, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Australia, Thailand, and Brazil. It provides unlimited voice calling and data on its roaming networks in various travel destinations. The Vi Postpaid Roaming Packs include an Always On feature that prevents exorbitant rates while on international roaming even after the subscribed pack has expired.
Vi currently offers roaming services in 81 countries through local service providers. It has also introduced an Always On feature to ensure that subscribers are not overcharged even after their subscribed plans have expired. For example, if a traveller who has purchased a seven-day Vi Postpaid Roaming Pack needs to extend their stay, they can continue to use their phone for voice, SMS, and data and will be charged standard rates until the user's usage value does not exceed ₹599. When the user exceeds ₹599, they will be charged ₹599 for each additional day they use the International Roaming facility.
