Tata Docomo to provide Wi-Fi services in Connaught Place
Tata Docomo will soon provide Wi-Fi services in the Connaught Place (CP) area, New Delhi.
Tata Docomo, the unified telecom brand of Tata Teleservices Limited, today announced its partnership with New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) to provide Wi-Fi services in the Connaught Place (CP) area, New Delhi. Covering 4kms of area, the new service will be available for users from the next month.
“The process of latching on to our Wi-Fi network is very simple. All the customer has to do is switch the Wi-Fi on in the device and click on the Tata Docomo SSID and user goes to the authentication page fills in some required details like email id and mobile number & receives an OTP to connect to the internet. The first 20 minutes of service for free at most of the hotspots,” explains Tata Docomo in a detailed release.
“Post that if a customer wants to continue using the Wi-Fi service, one has an option of buying a plan online or walking up to a counter to purchase scratch cards for any offer he wishes to choose. Tata Docomo Wi-Fi roaming cards (scratch) offers plans depending on the time one desires to use the services. These Wi-Fi roaming cards can be used at any Tata Docomo hotspot across India. Tata Docomo Wi-Fi provides pre-paid tariff cards starting from Rs 20 for 40 minutes, Rs 30 for 60 minutes & Rs 50 for 100 minutes.”

Wi-Fi hotspots are getting popular in the metro cities. Tata Docomo already provides such facilities in other public areas such as Delhi Domestic and T3 International Airport and Feroz Shah Kotla Cricket Stadium.
Recently, MTS launched its Wi-Fi services on Gurgaon Rapid Metro. The company then said it planned to launch Wi-Fi services at more places in NCR and in other cities.
