Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. (RJIL) is reportedly going to launch its 4G services in the country by September this year. According to reports, the company is building up team for its services, which is ‘almost done’.
RJIL may launch its 4G services in third quarter of 2014 ie July-September period, starting from key circles – Delhi and Mumbai. More details about the service are expected to be available by July.
According to reports, the company has already begun 4G trials in cities such as Jamnagar, Mumbai and Delhi. RJIL has been allocated 22 million numbers for launch of services. After Delhi and Mumbai, the company will expand its 4G services to revenue generating circles across West, North and East.
RJIL claims its 4G wireless broadband services will be about 10-12 times faster than the current 3G networks. Current 3G networks deliver average speed around 4Mbps. The operator will also launch a set-top-box that will facilitate both broadband and television services and bouquet of 50 channels on mobile phone.
Bharti Airtel has already launched 4G in select circles. The operator recently announced its 4G services on mobile in Bangalore circle.
