Airtel and Reliance Jio are the two biggest telecom providers in India and are presently offering 4G services in most parts of India. The companies are also soon rolling out 5G services in various states across India.
The majority of the user base of both these telecom companies are prepaid users who prefer plans under ₹200. As tariff hikes are expected pretty soon, these plans might be discontinued in the coming future.
We will compare the ₹199 recharge plans that are being offered by Jio and Airtel to find out which plan is better.
Airtel offers a ₹199 plan to its prepaid users. Under this, the users get 3GB of total data. Along with the 3GB data, users are also offered unlimited voice calling and a total of 300 SMS.
The plan is valid for 30 days and comes with additional benefits such as Hellotunes and Wynk music.
Jio similarly also offers a ₹199 plan. However, it offers 1.5GB of daily data to its users. Along with this, unlimited voice calling is also available with this plan and 100 SMS per day. Hence, the total data offered under this plan is 34.5GB.
Additional offers included with this plan are access to JioTV, JioCinema, JioSecurity and JioCloud.
This plan is valid for 23 days. Once the users consume FUP data, the speed will drop to 64 Kbps.
If you want a lot of data, Airtel might not be the best plan for you. However, if data is not a preference and the user requires to make a lot of calls then Airtel might seem like a better option.
For budget users, Airtel seems like a better option as it has a longer validity. Airtel offers a validity of 30 days while Jio just offers a 23-day validity when purchasing the ₹199 plan.
Hence, if we're looking for longer validity then Airtel is the option to go with and if data is the priority, you can go with Jio.
