JioHotstar
Recently JioHotstatr was launched finally after the long merger and the controversies that circulated around it. The timing was perfect as it coincided with the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy. For this, the company gave complimentary access to the platform as well. Now, JioHotstar has launched a new prepaid plan that is designed exclusively for cricket enthusiasts.
Once someone buys this plan, they can stream live matches from the tournament, along with a variety of entertainment options such as movies, TV shows, anime, and documentaries. Additionally, the package includes a Cricket Data Pack as well.
This is an add-on plan and requires users to have a pre-existing prepaid base plan to activate. If users buy the Rs 195 prepaid plan, then they can enjoy a free ad-supported subscription. With this, the users can access JioHotstar for 90 days at no extra cost. This plan is valid for 90 days and offers 15GB of high-speed internet. Once the data limit is exhausted, speeds are reduced to 64kbps as per Jio’s policy.
JioHotstar’s ad-supported subscription, which comes bundled with this plan, is otherwise priced at Rs. 149 per month and allows streaming on a single mobile device in 720p resolution.
If you are looking for an alternative and a more extensive data pack, then you can go for the Rs. 949 prepaid recharge plan. This plan includes the same ad-supported JioHotstar subscription but offers 2GB of high-speed 5G data per day. Additionally, it provides unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day, along with access to Jio applications such as JioCloud and JioTV.
While the merger and the whole paid subscriptions for streaming cricket didn’t sit well for a lot of people, with plans like these Jio seems to be tapping on the massive cricket audience in the country. With the IPL season following soon, the platform is expected to onboard more subscribers.
