The OnePlus 13 series has officially made its debut with slew of AI features, powerful specifications, new design and camera. The series include the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R. Additionally, the OnePlus 13 series is the first in India to get the 5.5G technology, with the collaboration with Jio.
The 5.5G, also called as 5G Advanced, is a better version of 5G which offers high data speeds, low latency, improved network reliability, broader connectivity and intelligence. It started rolling out with 3GPP Release 18 and will evolve further through Release 21, expected by 2028, said Ericsson.
The company explained that the new connectivity tech allows the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R to connect to three different network cells, ideally from multiple towers, giving faster and more reliable connectivity. It means that the users will get faster data speeds and updates including the notifications and more.
During the Winter launch event, the company also showcased the new technology over the traditional 5G. It showed a Jio’s 5G-Advanced 3CC network (using 5.5G), the devices were able to get 1,014.86 Mbps, definitely faster than the traditional 5G network.
“In an industry-first, the OnePlus 13R is the world’s first smartphone to support 5.5G in India – thanks to our partnership with Jio. It’s a major step toward bringing faster, next-generation connectivity to Indian users,” the company stated. The 5.5G offers a more stable network specifically in places like car parks, elevators, or crowded places like cricket stadiums.
Meanwhile, the OnePlus 13 price in India starts from Rs 69,999 and goes all the way up to Rs 89,999 for the 24GB+1TB variant.
