Is BSNL Down? Hundreds of users are facing problems in making calls and accessing the internet
BSNL users report "No Signal" errors, with over 70% facing connectivity problems.
The telecom operator has not acknowledged the outage, while users on social media are trolling the issue.
BSNL reportedly plans to discontinue 3G services while retaining 2G for voice calls to ensure service reliability.
BSNL Down: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) users from across the country are unable to access the internet and make phone calls. As per the users they have been getting ‘Na o Signal’ error for a while now leaving them unable to access basic mobile services. However, it seems that not all parts of India are affected. As per the reports, the users in Nagpur and Kolkata are the most affected.
According to DownDetector, the problem started during the early hours of January 1 with a consistent hundred reports. Over 70 percent of users complained about the no signal error while 33 percent of users complained about Total blackout and 5 percent of users complained about mobile internet users.
The telecom operator has not acknowledged the outage at the moment. On the other hand, the social media platform X has become a meme fest where the users are sharing memes, opinions, trolls, and other jokes trolling the BSNL network.
The reports also state that BSNL has acknowledged that it will be discontinuing the 3G service due to declining demand while retaining the 2GB network to ensure reliable and affordable voice calls for users with basic phones. The decision follows persistent complaints from Kerala customers about call connectivity issues, despite ongoing efforts to install 4G towers.
Previously, the company has introduced two new recharge plans for the users while keeping affordability in mind. The first plan is priced at Rs 215 for 30 days and Rs 628 for 84 days. Both offer unlimited calls, 100 SMS per day, and data (2GB/day for Rs. 215 and 3GB/day for Rs. 628). Additional benefits include access to Zing Music, BSNL Tunes, and Astrotell.
