BSNL has launched new plans in order to take on the offering of other telecoms like Reliance Jio. The company has slashed its 3G mobile internet rates and has launched the Rs. 291 plan, which offers 8GB of data, with a validity of 28 days. This equates to about Rs. 36 for each GB of data. Earlier the same plan offered 2GB of data. Further, the Rs. 78 plan will offer double data at 2GB. The company said in a statement, “With these offers BSNL is now offering data at the rate of Rs 36 per GB which is one of the lowest in the Industry.” The plans will be valid from February 6.
Last month, BSNL launched a new prepaid scheme that allowed new subscribers to make 30 minutes of free voice calls to local and STD networks via a monthly prepaid pack of Rs. 149. Existing customers get free unlimited calls for three month through a lumpsum amount of Rs. 439. Besides this, customers will also get 300MB of mobile data with both these plans. The company also unveiled a Rs. 144 plan, which offers unlimited local and STD call, as well as 300MB of data. This plan is applicable for prepaid and postpaid customers.
