India’s telecom giant Airtel faced a major outage on the morning of December 26, leaving thousands of users struggling with connectivity issues. According to Downdetector, an online platform that tracks service outages, over 3,000 reports have been logged, highlighting widespread issues.
Among the reports, 47 percent of users indicated problems specifically with mobile internet, around 30 percent of users have reported a total blackout, and 23 percent of users have experienced issues with receiving any mobile signal.
While Airtel has yet to release an official statement on the cause of the issue, the disruption has sparked frustration among customers.
Users voiced their frustrations on platforms like X (formerly Twitter). Reports on X show that the outage has significantly impacted customers in Gujarat.
