With more and more people working from home, the demand for one service has increased – video conferencing. Apps like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and more are getting more and more attention as teams try to co-ordinate their work from home. The latest entry in the video conferencing space was Reliance JioMeet which is available to consumers and enterprise users alike. Now Airtel has partnered with Verizon to bring BlueJeans to India as Airtel BlueJeans.

Airtel BlueJeans is an enterprise-grade video conferencing app and will not be available to regular customers. It will compete with the likes of Zoom, Google Meets, Microsoft Teams and more in the enterprise solution space. Airtel BlueJeans will initially be available as a free trial. Users will have to register on the Airtel website and 24-hours after registration, the service will get activated.

Those interested can access BlueJeans directly but they will miss out on the benefits that Airtel will include with the service. The video conferencing solution will bring with it features like real-time meetings analytics and live meeting controls. Users will also be able to dial in at Rs 0.50 per call

Airtel BlueJeans will work across desktop and mobile as well. The service will also come with enterprise-grade security. Another key feature offered by the service is data localization. According to Airtel, “Another key focus area for enterprises is ensuring data stays localised and secure. Data localisation is therefore critical to ensuring responsible and transparent data use as well as robust privacy protection”. This will be helpful for those that want their data to be stored in India. For security, Airtel BlueJeans will offer AES-256 GCM encryption. It will also provide a waiting room with controls for managing who can be admitted into a meeting.

In other video conferencing news, Rajasthan-based IT firm, Data Ingenious Global Ltd.’s video conferencing platform, VideoMeet has been rolled out to four states. The company notes that the expansion is needed to provide uninterrupted and secured video calling service to its growing user base.
