Former Meta engineers create Jace AI agent: Here’s what it can do
Zeta Labs, a London-based startup founded by former Meta engineers, has announced the launch of Jace AI agent.

Zeta Labs, a London-based startup founded by former Meta engineers Fryderyk Wiatrowski and Peter Albert, has announced the launch of Jace, an AI agent powered by a large language model (LLM) capable of executing in-browser actions on command.
While AI agents have been making headlines recently, Zeta Labs claims that its offering stands out by requiring no user guidance. Users simply need to instruct the agent on what needs to be done, and it will handle the rest, freeing them from the need to sit in front of their computers.

The startup is collaborating with early partners and intends to use its pre-seed funding to enhance Jace’s capabilities, making it more reliable and faster at handling complex tasks demanded by consumers and businesses, reports VentureBeat.
The funding round saw participation from several angel investors and VC firms, including Shawn Wang, Bartek Pucek, and Mati Staniszewski, the founder of ElevenLabs.

At its core, Jace is a straightforward web agent, similar to ChatGPT. Users interact with the bot through a chatbox, describing the tasks that need to be done. Once task instructions are provided, either through natural language or follow-up widget-like prompts, the underlying models take over, creating a plan, providing information, and executing actions in the browser.
For instance, if a user wants to book a specific hotel in Paris for a given week, Jace will search the web for information about the hotel and even visit the hotel’s website to make a booking, complete with payment.
Albert told VentureBeat that Jace extends the capabilities of text-generating AI chatbots by performing a wide range of tasks directly in the browser in the cloud. This includes basic tasks like searching for flights or replying to emails, as well as complex tasks like setting up a recruitment pipeline on LinkedIn, managing inventory, and launching ad campaigns.
While Jace can already handle a variety of tasks, Zeta Labs has not yet monetized the product. The company is collaborating with a few design partners to further refine the AI agent and prepare it for a general release.
