Zync’s 5-inch dual-SIM Android-based phablet Cloud Z5 is now available with a 1GHz dual-core processor. The dual-core variant of the Zync Cloud Z5 is priced at Rs. 11,990.
Apart from the dual-core processor, other specifications are the same. The phablet runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and has 512MB of RAM. The phablet has dual-SIM (GSM-GSM) capabilities, with dual standby support. Other key specifications include 5-inch five-point multi-touch capacitive touchscreen with 480×800 pixels, 8MP rear camera with flash, 0.3MP front camera, 4GB of built-in storage with expansion options upto 32GB via microSD. The phablet comes with a 2,500 mAh battery.
For connectivity, the dual-core Zync Cloud Z5 supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0, and USB. The phablet comes preloaded with various apps Bollywood Hungama, Ibibo Games, Zomato, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and more.
The dual-core variant of the Cloud Z5 is available via several online stores such as Snapdeal, Naaptol, IndiaTimes, HomeShop18, Infibeam, Shopclues, Indiaplaza, The Mobile Store etc.
The Zync Cloud Z5 was launched in October last year with an MRP of Rs. 11,490. However, the device is available for Rs. 9,490 at the online stores. In our detailed review, the Cloud Z5 had secured a 3 out of 5 rating, with its large display, solid battery life, and decent camera, coupled with its affordable pricing its highlights, and the display’s low-resolution, performance lag with heavy multitasking, and bulky form factor its low points.
Despite the addition of a dual-core CPU on the Zync Cloud Z5, 512MB of RAM seems a bit less. Whether the CPU enhancement will address the issue of lags is something we will comment once we get some hands on with the phablet.
The Zync Cloud Z5 dual-core is set to compete against the likes of other budget phablets in the market such as the Micromax A100 Superfone Canvas, Micromax A110 Superfone Canvas 2, Spice Stellar Horizon Mi-500 and iBall Andi 5c.
