Zen Mobiles has launched U105- its first Firefox OS based smartphone. The smartphone is available exclusively via HomeShop 18 for Rs 1,999.
The Zen Firefox U105 has a 3.5-inch display with 320 × 480 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1 GHz processor coupled with 128 MB RAM. It has 256 MB internal memory expandable via microSD card support to 16 GB. The smartphone has dual cameras, a 2 MP rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera. It has inbuilt proximity, accelerometer, gyroscope and ambient light sensors.
The U105 has a 1,200mAh battery, which according to company claims can deliver up to five hours of talk time and 240 hours of standby time. The smartphone supports dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) functionality, FM radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity. The U105 is available in Black color. Zen U105 is available exclusively via ecommerce retailer HomeShop 18 for Rs 1999. The retailer claims that it has already sold 15,000 Firefox U150 handsets on the first day of its launch and is currently out of stock.
With the launch of Firefox U105, Zen has joined the likes of Alcatel, Intex and Spice who have also launched budget smartphones running Firefox OS in the last 2 months. All the devices are priced in the same segment. Alcatel’s OneTouch Fire C is the cheapest smartphone priced at Rs 1,990, Intex Cloud FX is priced at Rs 1,999, while the Spice Fire One Mi-FX 1 costs the most at Rs 2,299.
