Yu Yutopia with 4GB RAM to launch on December 7

Yu will be launching the Yutopia on December 7. The company has sent out emails with an image which says, “The real beast is coming to town” followed by the date. Yu has been teasing details about the phone for quite a while and its founder, Rahul Sharma has been posting tweets about the upcoming smartphone, calling it the “most powerful smartphone on the planet.” 

The company has posted a number of teasers for the Yutopia which take a dig at it’s competitors. It has teased a metal build for the Yutopia with a teaser image that said, “R.I.P plastic and sandstone. True power lies in metal.” A couple of days later, it posted another tweet which said, “Calling a 1080p Display a 2016 Flagship killer? #WhySettle #YUTOPIA” with an image of the OnePlus 2, which hinted that the upcoming device could have a 2K display. It has also posted a teaser which suggested that the device could come with 32GB storage and not 16GB. A few days ago, Yu took a dig at Apple with a tweet that said, “High on price, low on juice! High time; #ThinkDifferent #RaiseTheBar! #Yutopia” with an image showing the Apple logo and the text, “Would you enjoy an apple that doesn’t last long?” which hinted towards a long battery life. Yu’s most recent teaser suggested 4GB of RAM and said, “3GB RAM for a flagship phone? #NextIsNoTNow. #Yutopia will change everything around!” Rumours suggest that the device would have a 21MP primary camera with an 8MP front camera.

A mystery device called the Yu5050 was spotted on GeekBench which could possibly be the Yu Yutopia. According to the listing, the device is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon processor, possibly the 810, with 4GB of RAM. The listing also showed that the device is running Android Lollipop v5.1.1. The device managed to score 1353 points on the single core test and 4622 points on the multi core test.
