Yu is launching its next phone, the Yu Yutopia today. The company has already claimed that it is the most powerful phone in the world. The phone was supposed to launch on 7 December, but apparently the launch was delayed for 10 days. If you want to take a look at the new phone being unveiled then Yu is doing a livestream of the launch event and you can watch it here.
Till now, we have seen various rumours and leaks of the Yu Yutopia. Even the company itself has been teasing some features regarding the phone from the past two months. Considering all the information we have received till the now, the phone is likely to have a metal unibody build. Yu themselves tweeted a picture earlier which said “True power lies in Metal”. Yu have also revealed that the phone will feature a 2K display. However, the company is yet to reveal what screen size it will have and if it will have an AMOLED display or a LCD? These questions will be answered today. One thing we can be sure of is that the storage will be at least 32GB. When Yu revealed this particular information, the company also took a jibe on the iPhone saying “$650 for a 16GB phone?” Nothing has changed!.
The phone will also support quick charge 2.0 and Yu has already suggested that the phone will have more than 3GB of RAM. As for the SoC, rumors suggest that the phone will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, which is also the most likely choice, since Yu is already touting the phone as a “Real Beast”. The alleged phone also popped up on Geekbench synthetic benchmark page offering the mentioned rumored specs. On the camera front, the phone might get a 13MP rear shooter equipped with OIS and may even get laser autofocus just like the OnePlus 2. Auto journalist @Motographer had the chance to take the phone to Austria. He clicked pictures of the BMW i8 in the foreground which at first look quite amazing but we will know more about the camera once it is finally launched.
