YU Yureka, the phone from Micromax’s sister company YU Televentures, is now getting an Android Lollipop update. Rahul Sharma, Co-Founder of Micromax announced in YU’s forums that the certification process of the CM12 update has been completed and is now ready to be delivered. It was earlier reported that YU Yureka will get an update on March 26, which was then delayed.
In the thread post on YU’s official forum, Sharma states that it took only two days to certify the update for use and the update is now available. YU will roll out the update in phases over the next 3 days. The new update brings Android’s Material design mixed with Cyanogen's own features like the theme manager.
The new update will be available on YU Yureka smartphones via OTA. YU has also been in the news for its upcoming smartphone, the YU Yuphoria. The upcoming phone will run CM12 out of the box. A similar CM12S update is also rolling out for the OnePlus One smartphone, which is the other phone currently in Indian markets running on Cyanogen’s custom ROM.
