You can try out a OnePlus 2 using the Ola app now
OnePlus has partnered with on-demand cab service provider Ola, allowing users to try out the OnePlus 2 and also win invites for it.
You can now get a feel of the OnePlus 2 by using the Ola application on any mobile OS. The Chinese smartphone maker today announced a partnership with on-demand cab service Ola, which will allow users to request for a OnePlus 2 smartphone at their doorstep. Note that Ola won’t be selling the OnePlus 2, rather, you can simply request a device if you want to experience it. The service will be available in Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai.
The service will be available in Bangalore and Chennai on August 17 and 18, while Delhi and Kolkata can use it on August 25 and 26. In addition, Hyderabad and Mumbai can opt for the service on August 21 and 22. The two companies will run social media campaigns around the partnership and OnePlus is also offering Ola users a chance to get invites through the Ola app (select few customers who avail the service will stand to win invites as well). Ola will be adding a OnePlus 2 icon to its application in the coming days. It is worth noting that users can opt for the OnePlus 2 experience through Ola for free.
The OnePlus 2 was launched in India on July 28 and will go on sale from today, at Rs. 24,999 for the 64GB variant. While OnePlus’ new device isn’t exactly the out-and-out flagship killer its predecessor was, it still breaks all performance barriers in the market right now. You can read our OnePlus 2 review here.
OnePlus had, at launch, said that it is looking at India as one of its most important markets this time. The company promised that it would make it easier to receive invites for the device, while also running promotions etc. in the country. The partnership with Ola seems to be the first, and it is an innovative initiative indeed. OnePlus had also tied up with Ola earlier, offering users a chance to win a OnePlus One when they use the Ola Auto service.
