Xperia Mini Pro to hit retail shelves at Rs. 15,399, with Gingerbread and QWERTY
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro has still to be launched in many territories across the world, but will apparently be making its debut in the Indian market by the end of this week, priced at Rs. 15,399. Running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and bearing a full-fledged 1GHz processor (a wondrous inclusion looking at its size), the Xperia Mini Pro also features a full QWERTY slider keypad.
Specifically, the Xperia Mini Pro has a 1GHz Scorpion processor with an Adreno 205 GPU, part of the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 chipset. It comes with 512MB of RAM, with Sony Ericsson wisely not skimping here. The Xperia Mini Pro has a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 320×480 pixels, run by the Sony Mobile Bravia Engine. Its 5MP autofocus camera comes with LED flash, is capable of 720p HD video recording, and has smile-detection, geo-tagging, and image stabilization features. It also has a VGA front-facing camera.

Other features of the Android QWERTY device include 400MB of built-in storage, microSD expansion up to 32GB (2GB card bundled); 3G (7.2MBps HSDPA and 5.76Mbps HSUPA) support; Wi-Fi b/g/n and DLNA support; Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP; GPS and A-GPS connectivity; microUSB port; and a 1,200 mAh battery rated to deliver up to 331 hours of standby time, 5 hours 40 minutes of talktime, and 29 hours of continuous music play.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro will certainly appeal to Android fans looking for a diminutive handset with the latest operating system, and a full QWERTY keyboard – it also comes in four colours – Black, White, Pink and Turquoise. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, sans keyboard, has also been seen stocking shelves in India in the meanwhile.
