Taking a cue from online sellers in the UK and other places, India’s very own Flipkart has also jumped the gun and listed the Xolo Q700 as phone that is “Coming Soon.” If you’re wondering what’s the big deal, then please read on.
The Xolo Q700 is powered by the 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor (the same as in the Micromax A116 Canvas HD, and most other recent budget quad-core smartphones), 1GB of RAM, 4GB of onboard storage (there is the option for using a microSD card to expand the storage) and the usual connectivity suspects such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC etc. The Xolo Q700 also sports a 4.5 inch IPS qHD capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, putting the pixel density at 245 ppi.
The Q700 will run Jelly Bean 4.2 out of the box. It also features a 5 megapixel BSI sensor for the rear camera that will shoot 720p videos along with a front facing VGA camera. There is also dual-SIM support to boot.
The Xolo Q700 may sound like just any other Android phone on the market at this time, but the price of Rs. 9,999 and availability pegged at some time in the coming week put this phone into the “exciting” category. This phone become effectively one of the cheapest (if not the cheapest) quad-core Android phones in the market.
