Xiaomi “Desh Ka Smartphone” to be exclusively available on Flipkart, launching on November 30

Xiaomi is all set to launch its “Desh Ka Smartphone” on November 30. Ahead of its launch, a Flipkart banner has revealed that the device will be exclusive to the online retailer. The announcement also highlights some of the smartphone’s features. As per Flipkart, the device could pack a large battery and a chipset which will offer better multitasking than its competitors. 

Xiaomi's vice president and India MD , Manu Jain previously teased the upcoming smartphone and said it will “change the lives of the entire country, especially people living in rural India,”. He had also posted a promo image of the “Desk ka Smartphone” on Twitter. The smartphone is speculated to be an entry level device, however, neither its specifications nor price is known as of now. It is rumoured that the “Desk ka Smartphone” could be the Xiaomi Redmi 5A, which was announced in China last month. The smartphone could be launched as the successor to last year's budget device, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A. 

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A was launched in China at a price of 599 yuan (Rs 5,854 approx, directly converted). Similar to its predecessor, the Redmi 5A is powered by a Quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC and 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The smartphone features a 5-inch HD display with a 1280 x 720p resolution.

The Redmi 5A comes with a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and features a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps and 720p videos at 30fps. The smartphone runs on MIUI9 on top of Android Nougat and is backed by a 3000mAh battery. The smartphone supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and 4G LTE and was launched in Gold, Rose Gold and Silver Grey colour models.
