While Xiaomi launched the Redmi Pro just last week, it seems like the company may already be working on a smaller version of the phone. According to a post by Weibo user, @KJuma, the company is working on a device called the Redmi Pro Mini, which will sport a slightly smaller 5.2-inch OLED display as compared to the 5.5-inch display found on the standard Xiaomi Redmi Pro. Further, the smaller phone might also sport a single rear camera instead of a dual-rear camera setup. It is also tipped to sport a 4000mAh battery pack and 2.5D curved glass.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro Mini might also feature different internals. While the standard version of the phone comes with MediaTek Helio X10 and X25 SoCs, the Pro Mini is tipped to feature an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor clocked at 1.8GHz. Further, the phone is expected to be available in three variants, one with 3GB RAM/32GB storage, another with 4GB RAM/32GB storage, and the top variant may offer 4GB RAM/64GB storage. The three variants are priced at CNY 1,499 (approx. Rs. 15,000), CNY 1,699 (approx. Rs. 17,000), and CNY 1,899 (approx. Rs. 19,000) respectively. However, it should be noted that right at the bottom of the post is a note in Mandarin, which when translated, reads, “purely fictitious and any similarity is purely lucky.” So it is advisable to take this with a pinch of salt for now!
