Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be launching MIUI 8 and the Mi Band 2, alongside the Mi Max smartphone on May 10. In a post on its official forum, the company said, “on May 10, we will introduce you MIUI 8, with the features you always wanted and new designs beyond your imagination. New design, with new experience.” The company also shared a demo video of the MIUI 8 notification bar. Xiaomi says that the new notification bar will offer a more dynamic experience and users will have quicker access to Wi-Fi, Torch, Bluetooth and more as the toggle switches will be displayed on the notification bar.
A few days ago, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun posted a picture of himself wearing the new Mi Band on Weibo. The device in the image has a LCD display and also appears to have a physical button. The company has also teased the Mi Max smartphone. Rumours suggest that the device may come with a 6.4-inch QHD display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. A few days ago, an image alleged to show the front panel of the phone was leaked. The images showed capacitive buttons located on the bottom of the device, which suggests that the device may not come with a fingerprint sensor located on the home button. However, the sensor may be located on the back of the phone instead.
