The MIUI 7 will have two versions of ROM: Global and Chinese. The Chinese ROM will be launched on August 13.
Xiaomi has finally confirmed the global launch of MIUI 7, the latest iteration for their widely popular MIUI ROM. Xiaomi posted the confirmation on their Twitter handle and mentioned that the launch event will be held on August 19 in New Delhi, India.

Recently, Xiaomi has announced the arrival of MIUI 7 on August 13 in an event in China. However, they have made it clear that the August 13 event is for the China version for MIUI 7 and the global version of MIUI 7 will be launched in Delhi on August 19. Xiaomi is also rumored to release Redmi Note 2 at the event in China.
They have also posted a thread on their forum mentioning the details regarding the event and the steps to register for it. If you are Mi fan and would like to attend the event, then you can head over the forum thread and follow the registeration steps.
Earlier in the day, Xiaomi also launched their first made-in-India phone, Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime, in Visakhapatnam. The phone has been priced at Rs. 6,999 and is almost similar to Redmi 2 except for the RAM and internal memory. The new phone has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage space, as compared to 1GB of RAM and 8GB of space in Redmi 2. Surprisingly, the Redmi 2 Prime runs on MIUI 6 based on Android KitKat. It will be interesting to see whether the device will be upgraded to the MIUI 7 after the ROM's launch. The other specs of the Redmi 2 Prime are 4.7-inch HD display, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 8MP rear, and 2MP front shooter along with a 2200mAh battery.
Xiaomi's Vice President, Hugo Barra said that Redmi 2 Prime will be available the Mi Store as well as other online stores starting today. He further added that the Redmi 2 Prime will be made available on offline stores soon. Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime was earlier spotted on Amazon India website for a short time.
