Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has posted a teaser on Weibo stating that its surprise this week will solve “life’s most important questions.” The company has not mentioned any other details except for the fact that it will be unveiled this week. The company posted an image of 100 Yuan notes, hinting that the company's surprise may have something to do with affordability. There are also speculations that Xiaomi may drop the price of one of its current devices.
Earlier this year, Digitimes reported that Xiaomi is planning to launch a company which will help users lake loans. The company will reportedly allow users to apply for loans for upto CNY 30,000 (approx. Rs. 3,12,852) using their smartphones. There were no reports regarding whether it will be available only for Xiaomi smartphone users or for other brands as well. If the reports are true, then Xiaomi’s surprise could also relate to this alleged company.
Other than this, there have been a number of leaks about Xiaomi’s upcoming devices. Recently, the renders of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 were been posted on Weibo. One of the renders show the device running on the newly launched MIUI 7, while the other shows a dual-rear camera setup. The device is expected to sport a 5.7-inch QHD display. Under the hood, it is expected to come with the Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4GB RAM. It may also have a 23MP rear and 12MP front camera along with a 3,500mAh battery.
Two storage variants of the device, with 32GB and 64GB option, are expected. A fingerprint sensor may also make an appearance.
