Xiaomi has shared an image on Chinese social media platform Weibo suggesting a new addition to the Mi Mix lineup of phones. The image shows three phones, the original Mi Mix, the Mi Mix 2 and the Mi Mix 3, and a fourth spot which is left “blank.” Neither the image, nor the text accompanying the photo mentions about Mi Mix 4, but it looks like that the phone may debut way earlier than it is generally launched, that is, in the fourth quarter of the year.
The company writes about the history of launching the Mi Mix line-up phones. A quick Google translation of the text read, “On October 25th, 2016, the concept of the full screen was unveiled for the first time, and the Xiaomi MIX series was officially opened.” Xiaomi then asks its fans what do they think about the future of mobile phones.
Previous reports have suggested that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. According to GF Securities, Hong Kong, the Mi Mix 4 may sport a triple-camera setup on the back and will reportedly have a periscope lens, which enables optical zoom. It was even claimed that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 wii be the Chinese electronics company’s first flagships for the year 2019.
The teaser comes a few weeks after the company launched the Mi Mix 3 5G. The original flagship was launched with the Snapdragon 845 mobile platform, the 5G variant had the Snapdragon 855 SoC with X50 5G modem. The Mi Mix 3 also had a larger capacity battery of 3800mAH as compared to the 3200mAh one on the standard Mi Mix 3. Xiaomi also conducted a video call via 5G claiming it’s the first time the company did a public demo of a 5G video call outside of China.
