The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max launched in India back in March but because of the nationwide lockdown imposed to stem the spread of the highly contagious coronavirus disease, the smartphone didn’t get a date for sale. Indeed, when the lockdown rules were relaxed, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro went on its first sale, and now it’s time for the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max to be on sale as well. Customers residing in areas designated green and orange zones can purchase the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max at 12PM on Amazon India.
Even before the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max could go on sale, Xiaomi had to hike the prices it initially announced at the launch event due to the hike in GST rates for mobile phones taking effect from April 2020. As a result, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max became Rs 1,000 more expensive for all variants.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage is now priced at Rs 16.499 while the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage is priced at Rs 17,999 and the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage is priced at Rs 19,999.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max can be purchased from Amazon India and Mi.com from today at 12:00PM. Only customers residing in green and orange zones will be able to place an order and get delivery of the smartphone.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max rocks a large 6.67-inch LCD display, the largest ever on a Redmi Note smartphone. There’s also a large 5,020mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G and offers up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
Where the Note 9 Pro Max differs from the regular Note 9 Pro is in the primary camera setup. The Note 9 Pro Max packs a large 64MP camera sensor in the back, along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the Note 9 Pro Max rocks a 32MP selfie shooter.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max isn’t the only smartphone to come out of Xiaomi’s stables in the recent months. The company also announced its first Mi flagship after years. The Xiaomi Mi 10 was announced at a price of Rs 49,999 and comes powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC and rock a 108MP rear camera setup. Alongside the flagship, Xiaomi also announced the Mi Box 4K and the Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 in India.
