It seems the time for flash sales is over, or at least that’s what Xiaomi thinks so. The company is going to sell its Redmi Note 4G smartphone without flash sales in India. The move is possibly due to a drop in the demand for the Note 4G. In its last flash sale, arranged on Tuesday, the Note didn’t sell out, which is unexpected from Xiaomi’s devices. Xiaomi had put up a total of 40,000 units for sale.
This has prompted the company to let go of the flash sale model for the Note 4G and list it like any other smartphone. The same doesn’t apply to other Xiaomi devices though, the newly launched Xiaomi Mi4 will continue selling through flash sales. The company sold 25,000 units of the device in 15 seconds on Tuesday.
The Redmi Note 4G has met with tough competition since the launch of the Yu Yureka smartphone in the country. The device doesn’t match up to the Yureka in some areas and also costs more than that device. This is presumably the reason for the drop in demand, since both the smartphones sell through similar flash sale models.
