Xiaomi Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, Redmi Note 4 and more phones to receive Global Stable MIUI 10 update in mid-October

The MIUI 10 update brings a refreshed UI for Xiaomi smartphones with a new recent screen, optimised app boot times and more.

Xiaomi has commenced the rollout of the MIUI 10 ROM for its smartphones and the update is already being seeded to the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The company has now announced that it will commence the rollout of MIUI 10 for some of its other handsets from mid-October. The Xiaomi phones that will soon be receiving the update are:  Mi Note 3, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A (review), Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi Max, Mi Max Prime, Mi Max 2, Redmi Note 4 / 4X (Qualcomm), Redmi 4X, Redmi 4A, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5, Redmi Note 5A, and the Redmi Note 5A Prime.

There are some other phones that are slated to receive the MIUI 10 update in November like the Xiaomi Mi 3, Mi 4, Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm, Redmi Note 3 Special Edition, Redmi 3S, Redmi 3X, Redmi Note 4 (MediaTek), and the Redmi 4 Prime. The new update enables new full-screen gestures and removes the soft navigation keys so that users get a “faster, smarter, and more convenient” navigation experience. The update will also enable phones with a single camera to capture portrait mode shots. 

Some system apps like Clock, Notes and others also get a refresh with the MIUI 10 and the UI is said to be tailored for full-screen devices that “lets the content take the front stage.” Additionally, it also brings system sounds and ambient sounds of the forest, beach, drizzle, stove fire, and summer night to the device so that users to help users focus on their tasks. As mentioned earlier, the Android Oreo-based stable MIUI 10 update was being rolled out for the Redmi Y2  in India. The new MIUI update version 10.0.1.0.OEFMIFH for the Redmi Y2 measures 501 MB in size and brings the aforementioned features for the phone. You can learn more about it here. 

Xiaomi recently launched its Redmi 6 series of smartphones, featuring the Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and the Redmi 6 Pro. Xiaomi says that the Redmi 6A is the smartphone for all and is the successor to the company's entry-level Redmi 5A smartphone. The Redmi 6 has been updated with dual-cameras and an Octa-core SoC, while the Redmi 6 Pro is the company’s first Redmi smartphone in India to feature a notch on top of its display.
