Xiaomi Redmi 4A could launch in India on March 20
Xiaomi Redmi 4A was launched in China back in November last year, and could be priced at less than Rs. 5,000 in India
Xiaomi has started sending out media invites for its next launch event on March 20. The teaser for the event states 'Time to get smArter' hinting at launch of Redmi 4A smartphone or new lineup of smart products. Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A smartphones were announced in China back in November last year. The smartphones are the direct successors to Redmi 3 series and could replace the Redmi 3S lineup when it launches in the country. Xiaomi claims to have sold over 3 million Redmi 3S smartphones in India and recently introduced Redmi Note 4 here.
To recall, Redmi 4A features unibody metal design like all recent Redmi-branded smartphones. The Redmi 4A comes with 5-inch 720p HD display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset. The handset offers 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. However, Redmi 4 offers better specificatons with option for a Full HD display, 3GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset.
Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A feature a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The Redmi 4's USP continues to be its 4100mAh battery with Quick Charge support, while the Redmi 4A offers a slightly smaller 3120mAh battery along with support for fast charging. The Redmi 4A is priced at 499 Yuan (around Rs 5,000) in China, while Redmi 4 starts at 699 Yuan (around Rs 7,000).
