Xiaomi’s newest smartphone, the Redmi 4 will be available for sale today at 12:00 pm on Amazon. Last week, the company claimed that it witnessed record sales during the first flash sale. It said that it sold more than 2,50,000 units of the Redmi 4 within eight minutes of the sale. Xiaomi also says that it received over 2.3 million ‘notify me’ alerts from customers with over 10 million hits per minute on the site.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 is the third smartphone to be launched by the company in India following the Redmi Note 4 and the Redmi 4A. The device sports a 5-inch HD display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 435 platform. The smartphone sports a 13MP rear and 5MP front camera and is equipped with a 4100mAh battery. It is available in three different variants. The base model with 2GB RAM/16GB storage is priced at Rs. 6,999, while the 3GB RAM/32GB storage model is priced at Rs. 8,999. A few days ago, Xiaomi started accepting pre-orders for the Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4A on Mi.com. The company is only accepting online payments as of now, and says that the order will be shipped to the customer within five days.
