Flipkart claims to have sold 1 million Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime smartphones in India
Xiaomi has sold 1 million units of Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime, its latest budget offerings in India. Online retailer Flipkart announced on Wednesday that it has sold 10 lakh Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime in India, since their launch in August.
Xiaomi had announced Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime as Flipkart exclusive budget offerings on August 9 and the smartphone has been a huge success in India. Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime offer the same design as Redmi Note 3 but at an even cheaper price tag. "Redmi 3S (and Redmi 3S Prime), which was launched on Flipkart on August 9 has been a runaway hit with first time buyers and technology enthusiasts alike. The smartphone has been rated a 4.2 Star in the 'below 12K' segment in smartphones," Flipkart said in a statement.
For Xiaomi, Redmi Note 3 has been a comeback device that has done reasonably well in terms of popularity and performance. At a starting price of Rs 6,999, Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S continue where Redmi Note 3 left off. The smartphones offer unibody metal design and massive 4100mAh battery.

Both Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime sport a 5-inch 720p HD display and are powered by Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor. The devices differ only in terms of memory – Redmi 3S comes with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage while Redmi 3S Prime jumps to 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime also rock the same 13MP primary camera and 5MP secondary camera setup.
The biggest feature here is the use of really beefy 4100mAh battery and support for 4G LTE. Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime run MIUI 7 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
