Redmi 2 Enhanced Edition will go on sale from February 13 in China. The phone is expected to hit Indian markets soon.

After the launch of the Redmi 2 in January, Xiaomi has come up with an Enhanced Edition of the Redmi 2 that will go on sale in China from tomorrow. While the Redmi 2 was launched at CNY 700 (Rs. 7,000), the new Enhanced Edition is priced slightly higher at CNY 799 (Rs. 8,000 approx).

The updated Redmi 2 will be called the Enhanced Edition because of the increase in RAM. The phone, which was reported earlier, comes with 2GB of RAM which will be a first at its price point.

Besides that, other specs remain the same, including 8GB internal storage which is upgradable via a microSD card. The Redmi 2 Enhanced Edition features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC inside with its quad-core CPUs clocked at 1.2GHz similar to the Redmi 2. There is an 8MP camera at the rear and a 2MP front facing camera. Even the 4.7-inch 720p screen remains the same.

Currently, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S is one of the largest selling phones in its category. It is also widely rumored and anticipated that Xiaomi will launch the Redmi 2 and the Redmi 2 Enhanced Edition later this year in India.
