The launch date for the Redmi K70 series has not yet been disclosed, but in the meantime, plenty of leaks and rumours regarding the new phone are making the rounds online. This series is expected to include three models: the Redmi K70, Redmi K70 Pro, and Redmi K70e. Now, a Xiaomi official has hinted at the chipset details of the upcoming Redmi K70 lineup.
President of Xiaomi China and the General Manager of Redmi, Lu Weibing, has shared a post on the Chinese micro-blogging platform Weibo which hints that one of the smartphones in the upcoming Redmi K70 series could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, reports 91mobiles.

Weibing described the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor as the “flagship darling of 2023.”

The official didn’t directly talk about the Redmi K70 series, but the timing of the post suggests that the smartphone might use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
Weibing also wondered whether the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 could be as successful as the Snapdragon 870.
So far, rumours suggest that the Redmi K70 is expected to feature an FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. The K70 smartphone model could offer up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. Also, this device will likely run on Android 14 with MIUI 14 out of the box. It could support 90W fast charging.
The Redmi K70 is expected to debut in India as the Poco F6.
Recently, a leaked render of the Redmi K70 smartphone model revealed the design of the upcoming device. According to the leaked render, the K70 is expected to feature a flat screen with a punch-hole at the centre surrounded by slim bezels on all sides. On the back, there could be a rectangular island that houses three cameras and a flash. The buttons for adjusting the volume and turning it on/off could be on the right side of the phone.
