Fresh details about the launch timeline of the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 have surfaced online. According to the website mydrivers.com, the Mi Note 3 might be launched by the end of August. The website also stated that Xiaomi may defer the launch to early September if it does not happen this month.
The Mi Note 3 is rumoured to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 platform, coupled with 6GB of RAM. It is expected to sport a Samsung 2K OLED display, as Xiaomi could be ditching LG as their choice of display makers.
Xiaomi’s previous Mi Note 2 flagship was not launched in India. However, it remains to be seen whether the latest installment of the Mi Note series will see an India release. The Mi Note 2 sported a 5.7-inch Full HD AMOLED display and was powered by a 2.35 GHz Quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 platform. It was manufactured in two variants – 4GB RAM coupled with 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM with 128GB of storage. It featured a 22.5 MP shooter with auto-focus, face detection, HDR, panorama mode, geo-tagging and touch focus. The smartphone also features a front-facing camera capable of shooting 8MP selfies. The Mi Note 2 was powered by a 4070 mAh battery.
The Mi Note 3 release rumour comes after the company revealed its MIUI 9 update list for a total of 19 Mi and 17 Redmi series devices; the Xiaomi Mi 6, Mi 5X and Redmi Note 4X being the first in line to get the update on August 11. The second wave of MIUI 9 updates is scheduled to begin on August 25 and will see 12 more smartphones get the update. These include – Xiaomi Mi Mix, Mi Note 2, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 5c, Mi Max 2, Mi Max, Mi 4s, Mi Note and Mi 4X.
