Even before its launch, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is grabbing all the limelight. Xiaomi’s bezel-less flagship is set to be launched in China on March 27. Till now, it is confirmed that the Mi Mix 2S will be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, but now more information has leaked out about the camera at the back of the phone.
An official watermark, based on the firmware acquired by XDA Developers, states “Shot on Mi Mix 2S AI Dual Camera”, which not only confirms the presence of a dual camera stack at the back, but also that it will come with AI-centric features. mi mi
A live photo leaked on Weibo reveals a vertically-aligned dual camera setup much like the iPhone X. XDA’s report also speaks of a video tutorial for placing the phone on a wireless charging pad which confirms the presence of wireless charging (Qi standard). Xiaomi was indeed added to the Wireless Power Consortium last year. Yet another video leaked previously showed iPhone X-like gestures in the UI.
Furthermore, the report states that the front camera will be positioned at the bottom of the phone, contrary to the previous renders which showed the front camera at the top right corner of the phone.
ARCore too will be present in the phone. Based on the source code obtained by the developer forum, this could be Xiaomi’s first phone to support Google’s augmented reality platform out of the box.
Based on multiple leaks and rumours, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S could sport a 5.99-inch OLED display of full HD+ along with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The phone is also rumoured to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor, but that’s not confirmed yet.
