Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 bezel-free smartphone to be launched on September 11
Xiaomi has revealed the launch date for the Mi Mix 2 smartphone which comes in just a day ahead of the iPhone 8 launch. The Mi Mix 2 is said to sport 93 percent screen-to-body ratio with an edge-to-edge bezel-less display.
Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of the Mi Mix 2, the successor to last year’s Mi Mix. The company announced the September 11 launch date in a post on Weibo, Xiaomi has also confirmed that the event will be taking place in Beijing at the University of Technology Gymnasium, however, the company has not yet revealed the event’s timings.
The upcoming Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is expected to feature a similar bezel-less and edge-to-edge display as the Mi Mix, with a few improvements. The Mi Mix sported a 91.3 percent screen to body ratio and a screen size of 6.4-Inches, whereas the Mi Mix 2 takes it a step further and is expected to come with a 93 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Xiaomi’s Managing Director, Manu Kumar Jain also tweeted about the upcoming smartphone’s launch recently, showcasing the bezel-less design of the smartphone. The Mi Mix 2 is rumoured to sport a 6.4-Inch QHD display. It is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 platform and feature 6GB RAM. The Mi Mix 2 is expected to sport the latest MIUI 9 OS based upon Android Nougat. There is no word yet regarding the pricing of the Mi Mix 2, however, it can be expected to be priced above the Mi Mix which was launched at an initial price of CNY 3,499 (Rs 34,500 approx).
