Xiaomi is reportedly planning to take on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the S6 Edge Plus with the Mi Edge. A leak suggests that the device will come with a dual-edge display, just like Samsung. Details of the rumoured phone were leaked by @KJuma and MyDrivers.
According to the leak, the Mi Edge will have a 5.2-inch curved edge screen with QHD resolution, which would end up with a pixel density of 565 ppi. The phone is also said to come with Snapdragon 808 SoC, which has a hexa-core CPU and an Adreno 418 GPU. The phone may also come with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM, and would probably be priced at around 2,500 Yuan, approximately Rs. 26,000.
This is not the first time a device with dual-edge display has been rumored to be released by Xiaomi. Back in December, rumors started swirling about the Xiaomi Arch which was said to be the world’s first phone with a dual-edge display. Curiously, the image of the Arch that was leaked was exactly the same as the leaked image of the Mi Edge. This might mean that the name of the phone has changed, since the Arch was leaked. We reckon that it’s best to take everything about the Mi Edge with a pinch of salt right now.
Xiaomi is also expected to launch its new flagship, the Mi 5, soon. The phone has recently been expected to feature a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset, instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC that was reported earlier. The Mi 5 is also expected to feature 4GB of RAM, a 5.3-inch QHD display, 16MP primary camera with dual-LED flash, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C Port, and options for 16GB or 32GB of internal storage.
