HIGHLIGHTS

The Xiaomi Mi A1 is the company’s first Android One device which was launched a few months ago at a price of Rs 14,999

Xiaomi’s Android One-powered smartphone, the Mi A1, has got a permanent price cut of Rs 1,000. The device will now be available at Rs 13,999 instead of its launch price of Rs 14,999. Xiaomi India Managing Director, Manu Jain tweeted, “Great news Mi Fans: announcing a permanent price drop of ₹ 1000 on Mi A1!” The phone will be available from Mi.com and Flipkart.

As mentioned earlier, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is a part of Google’s Android One project. As a result, the phone comes with a stock Android Nougat interface instead of the company’s own MIUI. A few days ago, the company announced that it was looking for beta testers for its upcoming Android Oreo update.

At launch, it was announced that the Mi A1 will get Android Oreo by the end of the year. It should be noted that all Xiaomi smartphones are currently running Android Nougat, including the newly launched Redmi 5A smartphone.

The Mi A1 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 SoC with 4GB of RAM. The phone offers 64GB of internal storage and is equipped with a 3080mAh battery. At the back of the phone is a dual camera setup consisting of two 12MP sensors. One of the sensors offers a wide angle lens, while the other offers 2x optical zoom. At the front is a 5MP unit.
