Xiaomi Mi 9 SE could launch globally soon
Xiaomi has listed the Mi 9 SE on its global website hinting that the smartphone may release outside China.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, which is a toned down version of the Mi 9, could soon launch in other markets outside of China. The smartphone was launched in China last month and has now made its way to Xiaomi’s global website. However, we will have to wait for an official announcement as other smartphones that are listed on Xiaomi’s global website aren't available outside of China.
Speaking of the specifications, the Mi 9 SE was the first smartphone to launch with a Snapdragon 712 SoC. Under the hood, the smartphone has 6GB RAM coupled with 128GB built-in storage. On the front, the smartphone has a 5.97-inch Full-HD+ display and a 20MP selfie camera. At the back, the device has a triple camera setup (48MP + 13MP + 8MP). The phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor, and a 3,070 mAh battery powers the entire package. The smartphone also supports 18W fast charging. In China, the smartphone is available in Blue, Violet, and Black colour options.
There is no information on whether the device will launch in India or an India price for the smartphone. In China, the device is priced at 1999 Yuan (approx Rs 21,000).
In other Xiaomi news, the company launched its Redmi Go smartphone in India priced at Rs 4,499. In our impressions of the smartphone we said that “As far as Android Go devices go, the Redmi Go is perfectly packed with features. It’s just as powerful as other Android Go phones in the market, but it’s lower price should ensure the phone sells well in the market. Xiaomi is targeting the feature phone users with this, and for Rs 4,499, it seems like a worthy upgrade. The phone itself is quite barebones and won’t make any heads turn, but considering the market it’s aiming for, the Redmi Go doesn’t have to do any of that and still win, solely for the lower price”.
