Xiaomi Mi 6 won't be launching at MWC 2017

Xiaomi Mi 6, the 2017 flagship smartphone from Chinese company is rumoured to arrive in three new variants. Now a new leak suggests that flagship variant of the three models will come with 6GB RAM and ceramic body similar to Xiaomi Mi Mix. With Snapdragon 835 not reaching OEMs before April, Xiaomi has decided to skip Mobile World Congress altogether and there is no clarity on when the smartphone will launch.

Xiaomi Mi 6 will come in three variants – a budget model with MediaTek Helio X30 chipset, a mid range variant with flat screen, 4GB RAM and Snapdragon 835 processor and another flagship model getting dual curved display, 6GB RAM and ceramic body. The smartphone is also rumoured to feature 12MP main camera with Sony IMX362 sensor and will run Android 7.0 Nougat.

The top-end Mi 6 will be offered in 128GB and 256GB storage options and a battery larger than 3000mAh in terms of capacity. Earlier rumours suggested that cheaper variant will be priced around 1,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 20,000), the mid-range model retailing for 2,499 Yuan (approximately Rs 25,000) and the flagship model costing at least 2,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 30,000).

Xiaomi won't be launching its flagship with anything other than Snapdragon 835 under the hood. With Galaxy S8 scheduled to launch on March 29, the Mi 6 could arrive in April and going on retail sometime in May.
