Xiaomi Mi 6 powered by Snapdragon 835 reportedly launching on April 16

Xiaomi is expected to offer the smartphone in three different storage variants.

Xiaomi Mi 6, the long rumoured flagship smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer could launch on April 16. According to a new leak from China, the smartphone will be the first Chinese device to feature the Snapdragon 835 chipset.

Xiaomi Mi 6 is rumoured to sport a 5.2-inch LCD display with 2.5D curved glass on top, with a ceramic finish similar to Mi Mix. The rumour also suggests that the Snapdragon 835 processor on the Mi 6 won't be underclocked and that the device will feature a camera similar to the Xperia XZ Premium. Earlier rumours hinted at a variant of Xiaomi Mi 6 powered by company's Surge S1 processor.

Xiaomi is expected to offer the smartphone in three different storage variants: a 4GB RAM variant with 32GB or 64GB storage and another 6GB RAM variant with 128GB storage. The 6GB RAM variant is rumoured to sport the premium ceramic unibody design. Xioami Mi 6 will likely start be priced at 1,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 20,000) while the top-end variant will be priced around 2,500 Yuan (approx. Rs. 25,000).

Samsung will announce its 2017 flagship Galaxy S8 and S8+ with Snapdragon 835 chipset on March 29. Xiaomi's Mi 6 could well be the second flagship launch with Qualcomm's flagship processor.
