The upcoming Xiaomi flagship smartphone- Mi 5, may be priced at around $314, which is about Rs. 20,300. The price is about the same as the price of the Xiaomi Mi 4 at the time of launch. This information comes from tipster @Leaksfly, who posted about it on Weibo. The Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to come with a number of high-end specifications.

Earlier reports have suggested that the Mi 5 would come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Soc. However, newer reports suggest that the device would instead be powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 SoC. The Mi 5 is also tipped to comes with a 5.3-inch QHD display and 4GB of RAM. It may also have a 16MP camera at the back with a dual-LED flash. It is also expected to comes with a USB Type-C port and 16GB or 64GB of internal storage. It is also expected to come with a fingerprint scanner, the teaser for which was supposedly leaked last month. The price and the launch date of the next Xiaomi flagship phone has not yet been confirmed by the company.  

Last month, Inventec Corp chairman confirmed that Xiaomi plans on launching its first notebook. He also added that shipments of the notebook would begin in the first half of 2016. It was reported that Inventec and Foxconn were going to manufacture the device. The notebook is expected to comes with a 15-inch Full HD display and would be powered by an Intel Core i700-4500u processor. It is tipped to come with two 8GB RAM modules and would run a version of Linux OS. It is expected to be priced at RMB 2,999, which is about Rs. 31,100.

Xiaomi is also being investigated for violating a new advertising law in China. The investigation is on the grounds of suspicion of using phrases like “the best” to describe its products online. Under the new law, enterprises are banned from using superlative adjectives during promotions. Xiaomi is the first internet enterprise to be probed after the law became effective on September 1 this year.
