The leaked image shows a cutout at the bottom of the screen where Xiaomi may place the physical home button which may incorporate a fingerprint sensor

The Xiaomi Mi 5’s front panel has supposedly leaked. The panel in the image shows a cutout at the bottom which may be the place where the physical home button could be located. It is possible that this button will incorporate a fingerprint scanner as otherwise, the company would have stuck with capacitive buttons.

The leaked panel in the image also lines up with the render that was leaked a few days ago. This includes the physical button and the rounded corners. Another image shows the back of the panel with all the connectors. Back in September, an image which was supposedly of the Mi 5, teased the fingerprint sensor on the phone

Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship device has been tipped to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC with 4GB of RAM. Xiaomi may offer 16GB and 64GB storage options with the phone. The screen size of the phone may either be 5.7-inches or 5.5-inches, but it will most probably have a 1080p display like the Mi 4. It is possible that Xiaomi will launch the phone in February next year. Last month, a Xiaomi phone powered by a Snapdragon 820 SoC appeared on GeekBench. The device was codenamed ‘Gemini’ and could possibly be the Xiaomi Mi 5. The device got a single-core score of 2140 and a multi-core score of 4762.

The company announced the Redmi Note Prime in India today. The device is priced at Rs. 8,499 and comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 2GB of RAM. At the back of the phone is a 13MP camera and a 5MP camera located in the front. The device also comes with a 3100mAh battery and supports 4G dual SIM connectivity. The Redmi Note Prime is the second phone by Xiaomi to be made in India after the Redmi 2 Prime.
