Xiaomi is expected to announce its new device, the Mi 4c, on September 24. As per latest reports, there will be two variants – a 2GB RAM version with 16GB of internal storage, and a 3GB RAM version with 32GB of internal storage.
The report has been posted by WCCFTech, citing a user from Weibo as the source. There are no changes in any of the specifications which were revealed in earlier rumors of the Mi 4c. It is expected to come with a 5-inch FHD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz, 13MP/5MP cameras, USB Type-C support, and a 3080mAh battery. It is further rumored to come with MIUI 7 ROM preinstalled, which was unveiled by Xiaomi last month. The 2GB RAM variant is expected to be priced around $220 (approx. Rs. 14,700), with no word on the pricing of the 3GB variant. The smartphone is expected to go on sale from October 3.
Xiaomi is expected to release only 100,000 units of it. With present reports of two separate models of the device now, it is not confirmed whether the number of units is for both of them combined, or for each variant. The reason for the limited number of units expected to be produced may be to avoid sales figures of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 from getting affected.
Xiaomi is also expected to be working on its next flagship device, the rumoured Mi 5. Among extensive rumours, the Mi 5 has been reported to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, while MediaTek's Helio X20 may be a realistic option too, looking at the production delay of the Snapdragon 820.
