An image, that allegedly shows the retail box of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 4c, has been leaked by @JetaimeTech. According to the image, the phone will come with a USB Type-C port, and will be powered by a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 808 processor. It will also have a 5-inch screen with Full HD resolution, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal memory, 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.
Most of these specifications were already leaked by TENAA, so there is nothing new about the phone, except for the USB Type-C port. If this does materialise, the Mi 4c will become Xiaomi’s first phone to come with USB Type-C port.
Xiaomi also launched MIUI 7 in August, which is its own ROM layered over Android Lollipop v5.1. The Mi 4c may come with the ROM pre-installed. The pricing of the device has not yet been revealed, but it is expected to retail for 1,299 Yuan, which is about Rs 13,533.
As per Xiaomi Today, the Mi 4c will be announced on September 24, and be available by October 3. However, only 100,000 units will be made available, imposing buying restrictions. This may be because the phone is intended to be a stop-gap handset, until the Xiaomi Mi 5 is announced.
Not much has been confirmed about the Xiaomi Mi 5 as of now. An AnTuTu benchmark screenshot was leaked in August, and based on that, it could be possible that the Mi 5 will come with a MediaTek Helio X20 SoC instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, as was rumored previously.
