Xiaomi Mi 11 has launched as the first Snapdragon 888-powered smartphone in the world and succeeds the Mi 10 series. The Mi 11 has launched in China with flagship-grade hardware and premium design and marks the debut of the Qualcomm’s next-generation processor that it unveiled earlier this month. The Mi 11 features a 2K AMOLED screen with 108MP cameras and sound optimized by Harman Kardon.
Interestingly, the Mi 11 was not accompanied by a “Pro” model and the company is said to skip it altogether and stick to a single flagship. This is why you will notice that the Mi 11 packs in the best possible hardware available for Android smartphones and will be leading the charge of flagship phones going forward in 2021. The phone is expected to make it to India next year as the company did launch the Mi 10. However, an exact date is yet to revealed by Xiaomi for the India launch of the Mi 11. Nevertheless, here’s everything you should know about Mi 11.
Xiaomi has priced the Mi 11 starting at CNY 3999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, CNY 4299 for 8GB+256GB variant and CNY 4699 for the 12GB+256GB model.
This translates to a starting price of Rs 45,000 by direct conversion but there are several other taxes imposed on import of phones. So it remains to be seen how Xiaomi prices the Mi 11 if and when it launches in India.
Xiaomi Mi 11 has a new design with squircle camera module on the back and a metal-glass construction. The glass variants have 8.06 millimetres thickness while the leather model measures 8.56 millimetres. The weight of the glass variants is 196 grams while that of the leather model is 194 grams. Xiaomi offers the Mi 11 in blue, white, black colours along with a special edition that is signed by CEO Lei Jun and in leather models.
The Mi 11 features a 6.81-inch 2K AMOLED screen with WQHD (3200 x 1440 pixels) resolution and supports 120Hz high refresh rate, HDR10+ with a 1,500nit peak brightness. The display is topped with the Gorilla Glass Victus which is also making its debut alongside the processor.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor lies at the heart of the Mi 11 and is built on a 5nm process with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 660 GPU. This is paired with upto 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and upto 256GB UFS3.1 storage options to choose from. The phone runs on MIUI 12.5 out-of-the-box which is based on Android 11.
Xiaomi Mi 11 has a triple camera system on the back that consists of a primary 108MP camera with a 1/1.33-inch sensor and an f/1.85 aperture. This is followed by a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 123-degree field of view along with a 5MP macro camera. The rear cameras can record in 8K UHD at 30FPS and 4K UHD at upto 60FPS along with 480P slow-motion video recording. On the front, there is a 20MP selfie camera housed within the notch cutout.
The Mi 11 is equipped with a 4,600mAh battery with support for 55W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging. It also supports 10W reverse wireless charging and does not come with a charging adapter out-of-the-box. You can read more about that here.
