Xiaomi Mi 10 to launch in India on March 31, pre-order details revealed

Xiaomi is all set to announce the Mi 10 in India on March 31. Interestingly, it is scheduled four days after the global launch on March 27. The company took to Twitter to announce the launch date. Soon after, it also sent media invites for a live stream that will take place through social media platforms and Xiaomi's Mi.com site. It will commence at 12:30 PM. While the company was expected to launch both Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro in India, recent teasers suggest that it may only bring the Mi 10 to the country. 

Further, the company will start taking pre-orders for the new phone starting at 3 pm IST on March 31. According to the microsite , customers pre-ordering the Mi 10 in India between March 31 and April 7 will receive an instant discount of Rs. . 2,500 on Axis Bank credit cards and EMI transactions.

Xiaomi Mi 10 features a 6.67-inch (2340 × 1080 pixels) Full HD + AMOLED with a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio. It supports a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 865 7nm Mobile Platform, paired with Adreno 650 GPU. It comes in 8GB and 12GB RAM variants with 256GB or 512GB of internal UFS 3.0 storage.

On the optics front, the Mi 10 sport a quad rear camera setup. The primary 108 lens is a Samsung sensor with an f / 1.69 aperture that supports OIS. It is accompanied by a 12MP 1 / 2.6-inch 2PD sensor for 2x zoom and portrait. There is an 8MP telephoto lens for 10x hybrid zoom, 50x digital zoom, and 5x optical zoom. It supports OIS as well. The fourth sensor is a 20MO ultra-wide-angle lens. The rear cameras support 8k at 30fps, 4k 60fps, and 960fps at 720p. The phones have a 20MP selfie shooter.

The phone packs a 4780mAh battery that supports 30W QC 4+ / PD3.0 wired and wireless fast charging and 10W wireless reverse charging.

While the phone is priced at 3999 yuan (approx Rs 40,920) in China, it may come with a higher price tag in India. Manu Kumar Jain tweeted that there would be changes in the pricing due to direct import, higher GST, and depreciating rupee.
